Hints and Tips

  • Mastery Assessments:
    • These have one page with seven problems.
    • You have 40 minutes to complete each assessment.
    • Watch Your Case: X is different from x, Sin is different from sin, and Pi is different from pi. Always use the same case as the problem you're solving.
    • If you enter a decimal, include four or five significant digits: in particular, type pi or 3.14159 for pi, NOT 3.14.
    • Always Preview your answers.
    • Use calculator syntax when you enter formulas: type things as you would enter them on your calculator.
      • The Square Root function is sqrt(x) or x^(1/2)
      • Trig functions: type sin(2x) for the sine of 2x
