Web Homework FAQ

Answers to Frequently Asked Questions about the Web Homework for Math 215 and 216:
  1. What are my username and password for the web homework?
Your login name for the homework is your uniqname -- so if your e-mail address on campus is aname@umich.edu your login name is aname. Your password is the same as your Kerberos password that you use to work with other on-line applications at the University.
  2. How many problems in a set do I have to get right for full credit?
    All of them.
  3. This algebra is crazy. How can I get a problem right when there is a lot of integration and algebra?
There are a couple of ways to deal with problems that seem to be hard because of algebra rather than calculus. First, you can use Maple (or a TI-89 or 92) to help with some of the calculations. Second, you can work with someone else to make sure that you are doing the calculation right. Third, you can check with a lab consultant (B728 in East Hall), a tutor in the Math Lab, a GSI, or your instructor to be sure that things are worked out correctly. Some combination of these should be sufficient. And yes, we have worked out 10 or more of every problem ourselves!
  4. Where can I go for help with the Web homework?
Check with a lab consultant (B728 in East Hall), a tutor in the Math Lab, a GSI, or your instructor.
  5. Where are answers to course-specific questions about the web homework?
Answers to course-specific questions are on the course webhomework home pages: Math 215, and Math 216.
